Plex Media Server - Windows based App versus Web based

I’ve never used the form before so bear with me if I am starting the wrong way to find an answer.
I built my Plex system 8 years ago and have been successfully running on a Shuttle system under Windows 7 Professional. My Logitech security camera system also is installed on this platform.
The camera system recently required an upgrade to Windows 10/11 so I built a new system which is running Win 11 Pro. I have the camera system up and running but have problems with PLEX. While the Shuttle system can still see my 600 plus movie DVDs using the windows media server version 1.29.0.1885-67668ec3, the web based Plex media Server version 1.28.2.6151 is missing over 200 of the titles??? The forum talks about file naming conventions but I can’t believe this is my issue? I just saw that there is a 64 bit version available for the web which I will download and try but doubt this will fix the issue.
Suggestions or solution?

There is no such thing as a web based Plex Media Server. All versions of PMS run on some sort of computer or device like a NAS. The interface mostly used to access and managed the server is the web app in browser. That interface has nothing to do with a server being able to scan and recognize files or not.

The current version of the web app at https://app.plex.tv is Version 4.91.2.

File naming does matter for movie and TV libraries but for “other video” libraries which I would think you would use for security camera systems naming does not matter. and i would guess it is a permissions issue if you are using that type of library

On your new setup, check the movie filtering area and look for the duplicate filter option. Gonna bet that is your problem. Over time plex has dropped support for edge case naming schemas. If you had yours matched prior to plex dropping support the matches stay valid. But the new server sees them as unmatched and tries to match using the modern matching rules.

If you want to save yourself a lot of time I would recommend using Download - tinyMediaManager and use ${title} (${year}) {imdb-${imdb}} as the new name format.

Might want to merge these two. Getting similar replies in both
