I am trying to add The Golden Girls TV series to my library. I’ve checked the spelling and format many times. Checked TVDB. Everything is good. Have latest version of Windows 10. Updated PMS today. Rebooted. Still doesn’t “see” the files. Any thoughts?
Are the files valid video files at all? Do they play in e.g. VLC?
How are the file named? How are they organised in folders and subfolders?
Are you adding them into a ‘TV Show’-type library at all
or are you trying to mix them into your movie type library?

The path is d:\Media\TV Shows\The Golden Girls\Season 01\The Golden Girls – s01e01.mkv
When I add movies to the d:\Media\Movies… folder they show up OK. I added my first TV series a few months ago and it showed up fine. Haven’t been able to do so since then however.
Yes, these are valid files I can play on VLC
Edit your tv show library
go to the ‘Add Folders’ tab
at which folder did you point the library?
It should be exactly d:\Media\TV Shows, not one folder level above, nor below it.

Hello, I have the same issue as above and when i try messing around with the library as suggested i actually get more series than what i actually have.
I know right??? sounds bizarre but true. i have MASH and south park, 2 things i never watched and never downloaded lol.
I am currently trying to delete the folder reboot my computer and re-add it after and see if it makes a difference. But in the mean time if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Edited since posted: Actually the MASH and southpark are actually the series i wanted. (Flash) for some reason this is all messed up.

I have tested the videos on different players and they all play fine.
My directory is: E:\Downloads\TV where i will add a folder for the particular series i want in this case The Flash; E:\Downloads\TV\The Flash in that folder i have all the series folders named as S1 to S7. My issue is that only up to series 5 is showing. As you can see from teh PNG there are 7 series.
Also on the PNG from Plex you can see only 5 series showing.
I also found some movies and TV series have the wrong picture on them. Like Dumbo 2019 it has the picture from the 1941 classic disney movie.
My question is if the directory change as above is the issue and to resolve it you should have directory as shown on the forum, how comes it only works partially for me?
This has always worked on all others and it only seems to have happened since the last updated i did.
Any suggestions?
There are some other series that i have that only have 3 out of 4 showing etc…
For starters, S1, S2, etc are not the proper naming conventions, they need to be:
Season 01
Season 02
etc

Similarly for your movies folders and files, in particular for movies (and tv shows for that matter) that have multiple release years (e.g. Dumbo 1941 versus Dumber 2019) you will need to include the year in your naming.

Thank you for that info. After changing the folders to the proper format I still didn’t see the extra series, however after closer inspection I found a few things and although what I have done is a laughable matter I am still going to let you know because other people may be in same situation (one can only hope he is not alone in this lol).
First of all, the naming of the folder like I had does work fine, but still changed it as requested.
Second after looking into it I only found 5 series for the flash not 7, and after this I inspected the files closer and found that some how previous series were copied into these new folders.
Third and in my defence from the laughable matter above plex did not show duplicate files as it normally does. This could be because they were within the same directory I don’t know. Had it done so I would have realised sooner.
And last but not least, to all those that are having problems, just make sure you have the files in the correct place and that they are not duplicates. In my case I was moving stuff around in my hard drives and I must have created/copied the wrong folders into the wrong directory.
Plex works great and it’s a great tool that when used properly will always work to its best.
