TV Shows Not Adding to TV Show Library but adding to Other Library's Without Issue

Trying to make TV episodes show up in the TV Shows Library. File and file path I have selected are;

TV Shows (Folder Selected for the library) - Pretty Little Liars Season 1 (2010) (Folder) - Episode 1.mkv, Episode 2.mkv, Episode 3.mkv. ect.

When I scan for media files it says the folder is empty. When I use the Generic other library or movies library the files show up no issue. Any advice for how to fix would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I am running on an Nvidia Sheild

You need to follow Plex’s naming & organization requirements.

https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-tv-show-files/

/TV Shows/Pretty Little Liars (2010)/Season 01/Pretty Little Liars s01e01.mkv

Plex Dance after renaming/reorganizing.

Thank you, this fixed it.

I’m having the same problem trying to add a couple of British shows even with the tvdb series id included.
My folder structure for season 1 episode 1 is:

Media → TV → Coupling (2000) {tvdb-78131} → Season 01 → Coupling (2000) - S01E01 - Flushed.mkv

I’d welcome any suggestions.

Naming looks good.

  1. File permissions. Make sure Plex has read access to the files.
  2. Use the Plex TV Series scanner & agent, needed to pick up the TMDB/TVDB ID.
They’re the default, so if this is a new TV show library, you’re already using them.
  3. Make sure you’re adding the TV folder to the library, not Media or the show folder.
  4. Plex Dance the show.
Perform all the steps, in order.

Thanks @FordGuy61 . Went through all the steps but there’s three series that don’t want to show up. All of them older British comedies, so wondering if that’s a coincidence. In any case I have alternate ways to play those back, so not too worried about it. In case anyone’s wondering, the three are: Are You Being Served, Absolutely Fabulous, and Coupling.

Cheers

@lang2507 if you want to provide screenshots of the file/folders and a copy of your server logs we can take a look.

@lang2507 Agree with @dbirch. Need screenshots / directory listings and a copy of server logs.

  1. Confirm you server is configured for debug, not verbose, logs.
    Settings → Server_Name → General

  2. Restart Plex Media Server

  3. Wait ~3 minutes for Plex to fully boot.

  4. Manually scan the library containing the troublesome shows.

  5. Pull the server logs and upload to the thread.
    Settings → Troubleshooting.
Drag the entire ZIP file into the message window. It will insert at the cursor location.
