Plex Media Server won't open

Hey,

I’m new to Plex and was trying it but something is wrong.

I have Windows 10 updated (v1709) and Plex Media Server installed version 1.9.4.4325.

I see the Plex logo next to the Windows 10 clock but when I click “Open Plex” it doesn’t do anything.

What I’m I doing wrong?

Do you have a Default Browser defined in windows ?
Selecting Open Plex would look for the default browser and then launch that

You can try it manually - going to url http://localhost:32400/web or http://127.0.0.1:32400/web

I have Google Chrome as default.

Manually typing in the URL worked and I think I was able to configure the server.

I still can’t open with by clicking “Open Plex” on the little icon. How can I overcome this?

Or do I need to manually enter it eveytime?

Check your Default Programs settings in windows.
It does sound like default browser is not defined correctly in windows
If you type in the task bar Start search bar http://127.0.0.1:32400/web does windows identify chrome in the search result?

Although Chrome is set to Default on Windows 10 settings, when I type on the Start search bar, Edge is the only given option to open the URL.

I’ve changed to have Firefox as default browser and still Start search gives only the Edge option.

Anyway while setting Firefox as default, Plex was successfully able to “Open Plex” through the little icon.

Weird that “Open Plex” when Chrome is set to default does not seem to respond at all.

I never had this issue with any other URL openings before…

I’ve done all these things and Plex server will still not open. What am I doing wrong?
