I have downloaded both the plex app and the plex media server and the plex app will not recognize that it has been downloaded and the media server will not pull up.
For the beginning, start only with the Plex media server.
Run the Plex media server app.
It should produce a Plex logo down on the right side of the Windows task tray. (Sometimes you need to click on the upwards Chevron to reveal it)
Is that logo there?
