Plex Media Sever crashing on a regular basis

Plex keeps crashing on a regular basis and my friends notify me that the Server is not accessible and I need to restart my computer, the Plex icon disappears from the taskbar and is annoying, how do I post log files for someone to take a look at?
Also for some reason I can not use port forwarding on my router as after a while the Server is no accessible outside the network, I this this may all be related somehow.

First make sure debug logging is enabled - see https://support.plex.tv/articles/201643703-reporting-issues-with-plex-media-server/

Second make sure Crash Reporting is enabled - see Settings / Server / General / Show Advanced

Then restart the server to get fresh logs created

On next crash, restart the server and download the logs zip - see https://support.plex.tv/articles/200250417-plex-media-server-log-files/

Attach the logs zip here

This would be related if it is because of the crash. Otherwise, please raise separate forum topic with screenshots / logs - but first see the troubleshooting article https://support.plex.tv/articles/200931138-troubleshooting-remote-access/

I suspect it may have something to do with using LIVE TV & DVR setup but not sure

Thanks for the logs. There was no crash reports being generated or crashes being detected.

Could you tell me when you believe the server crashed?
I can see one manual shut downs / exits

Jul 12, 2018 16:02:09.663 [15744] DEBUG - Ordered to stop server.

The server was restarted at these times
Jul 12, 2018 14:25:25 - did this crash ? but the restart was only 2 minutes after - so not a real crash whilst running
Jul 12, 2018 14:27:13 - server manually shutdown / exited at 16:02:09
Jul 12, 2018 17:26:23 = logs downloaded 17:28:08

The only time it may have crashed from these logs would have been at 14:27 on July 12

Please let me know when the crash was - and logs need to be taken soon after the crash

You could check windows application event log for any Plex Media Server.exe application exceptions

Not sure when, I just went down to taskbar and found Plex icon missing, so I went to a TV running Plex on ATV4 and it wouldn’t play, so I restarted Plex and everything came right but still Fully accessible outside your network wasn’t working until I clicked Apply on Manually specify public port.
I’m not sure when the crash happened, but to get the log files, I need to restart Plex

May be you did not capture the logs soon enough after the suspected crash

The restart you did at 17:26 to get the logs was after a shutdown that you instigated at 16:02. Perhaps you did not relaunch Plex Media Server after you shut it down at 16:02 and then at 17:26 noticed the icon missing

I am still having plex crashing on me, when I start playing a TV episode it works fine until it finishes and I select up next, when this happened I hover my mouse over the Plex icon in the task bar and it disappears, instead of restarting Plex to obtain the log files I have gone into the logs folder and zipped up the latest log files for you to have another look, if you need anymore logs I have copied the log folder to the desktop before restarting Plex again

Are you by any chance using the latest beta for tvOS app? The crash looks similar to one I looked into yesterday when using Plex for iOS 5.5 and Plex for tvOS 1.33 betas

I am using Plex for Apple TV 1.33 beta and not iPhone or iPad which are at v5.4

The crash appears to have been due to the beta issue in 1.33

If you are getting crashes with iPad or iPhone and not using Apple TV then I would like to see the log

I’ve opted out of the beta and have gone back to 1.2 and is working well now
cheers

The problem has been identified and fixed and a new beta build will be released
