I’m trying to re-download a plex sever t. it my cloud. the file will not open up on my computer. it has been updated as well. please help me download file so my plex can get up and running.

Download will depend on what version of WD‘s operating system is installed on your MyCloud:

Keep in mind you’ll have to install that on the MyCloud itself. Opening/running it on your computer won’t work or do anything.

Thank you it is OS5 also it is on my MY Cloud.

Okay let me explain more in-depth. After I download the file and then go to open it. Then what it dose is open back up to the download page. I’m not sure why. I have never had this problem with downloading the media sever. It is installed on MyCloud and on my computer files in download. The computer is windows 11 and is all updated. And my WD is as the latest up dates for plex. just not sure What and why this is happening.

MyCloud as been updated to Firmware Version 5.31.108

If your server isn’t claimed, you can only access it “locally” – that means from within the same network/subnet and using the WD MyCloud’s local IP address (e.g. http://[WD MyCloud local IP]:32400/web).

If you’re trying to access it using a different Plex account (with which you haven’t shared any libraries, you’ll also get to see the “everything’s empty / nothing to see” message with a suggestion to download PMS.

Thank you I claimed my Server. But now I would like to have my plex remote and it will not allow me to do that without the update. How do I download this update? “You are currently running version 1.41.8.9834 on the server “MyCloudPR4100”. Version 1.42.2.10156 is now available. This update will need to be installed manually after download.” It will not open the file on my windows computer, can you help with this also?

You cannot run those packages on Windows.

You’ll need to open the WD MyCloud‘s web admin interface and access their App Center. There should be an option to manually install an app. This will allow you to upload the updated app you’ve downloaded.

This WD KB article might help with the exact steps.
