Why do some movies display both the folder and movie.
To recreate the steps:
Home > Libraries > Movies
Under Movies, the filter is default ALL MOVIES By Title
Note some movies display the folder and another entry for the movie. Others do not. Doesn’t seem to be any pattern.
All files/folders have the same structure.
Movies/Movie 1 (2018)
- Movie 1 (2018).m4v
Movies/Movie 2 (2018)
- Movie 2 (2018).mp4

In the Movie library, have you selected it to display both individual and collection? I use Show collections and not individual+collection if I have films like 300 or the Predator series of films, or as Plex calls them Collections.
This can easily be fixed by just editing the library and selecting individual films only to be shown. I have over 2500 films and quite a few are in collections, hence why I use show Collection instead of both.

Your reply helped greatly. When I select a folder within the web app, then select Advanced, I see the option Collection Mode with the “Library default” value. When the value is changed to "Hide Collection", only the movie is displayed. Thank you.
I actually found the solution, worked perfectly.
on your library: Edit > Advanced > Collections: disable

@canon2k15 Not a problem, glad I could help! Got to get to the bottom of the Live TV issue I’m having now… Ah, Plex can be a hindrance sometimes, but it’s still the only Media Server I’ll use!
