I’m kinda in the same situation.
When I click on Collections, from the web browser, It shows all my movies 1:1 in the collections tab. I would only like to see only movies that are actually part of a collection, whether I create it or Plex did. How can I do that?

I don’t understand the question. Did you restore defaults?
After I replaced my dead hard drive, I installed the latest Plex server version and recreated my library, so why do I need to restore the defaults? I did not create these collections.
if you do not want automatically created collections for a library then turn off auto collections for that library.
If you are using older agent then option will be in the agent settings
if you are seeing the entire regular library movies (not collections) under the collection tab then restore defaults to fix it. It is not going to change your server settings.
I never noticed: “Edit Cinema”.

That did not work. All the movies are still there.

It’s showing duplicates
Since all those collection are made you need to select the ones you don’t want by clicking on the circle on top left of collection posters and then delete them all from menu
One is the tab to show the library view. One is the tab for the collections in that library view. And the last is recommendations for items in that library.
In short you’re just seeing different views of the same library.

Also, why does your web page looks different then mine?
to be clear collections will have a # movies noted under the poster
Can only guess you are using the older one at IPaddress:32400/web rather than https://app.plex.tv
His is the same he is just selecting items so the toolbar for item selection has appeared under the top.
oh yeah the tool bar shows up as you select things via the circle on top left of posters
He also has an additional categories tab that I’m not sure where that comes from or what it displays.
