What did you all do to the library mode on the Plex Web? For years I’ve been able to set up collections and then use library view with those collections. I prefer that to the Collections Tab as it allows me to do collections and single movies in the same view.
This works fine on mobile, and on the actual windows app but as of today 11/21 on plex web, library view just shows every single movie (no collections at all)
What does it actually say in the selector?
(maybe set the interface language to English, to avoid getting confused by an ambiguous translation)
You probably want “hide items which are in collections”.
Do also take a look into the properties of the collections themselves.
On the Advanced tab, the Collection mode must be set to “Library default”.
Do I see that right? You have every movie in at least one collection and you want your library tab to consist only of collections?
If that is the case, what is the difference to the Collections tab then?
You are not listening to me at all. I have hide items which are in collections. I hvae English for interface language. I have it set on All with no filtering at all. Then Movies (not Folders), then Title like normal.
I have collections for most if not all movies, then I have movies outside of collections. I want the same functionality I had a week ago. I open up the Library Tab. Library tab shows my collections (hides all movies inside those collections) and then shows movies that have no collections. This worked perfectly fine and still does on IP Address/Plex Web, Plex App, IOS Plex App, etc. However on the App.Plex.Tv web app it now just shows every movie alphabetically by title with 0 collections.
Literally I did nothing at all. This happened today when I opened the web interface with absolutely 0 changes from me to my library layout/etc that worked fine for 4 years now.
so IOS app - works as intended or as it did for years.
clicking Plex Server and open Plex to Web (which uses the IP address) - works as intended or as it did for years.
Plex on Roku - same as above.
Plex app on Windows - same as above.
I open a browser and go to app.plex.tv which opens Plex for Web and the library mode only shows movies alphabetical, no collections whatsoever.
Having the issue here as well. Didn’t do anything to update anything on my end. Was in the middle of working on organizing media and suddenly the server spun up loudly and locked up. Next thing I know, the library tab shows no collections whatsoever. I can still see everything in collections in the collections tab, and all my tags and things are still in place when spot checking. But the web app is showing no collections at all on the libraries tab.
I had a minor stroke, because I have spent the last 6 months manually going through all of my media (I know there are tools, I will use them later), to clean it up and organize it. I was in the home stretch with my movies and this suddenly happened. At least it’s not just me, and it can be replicated.
Same issue here. Today i was checking my plex server and i observed that all my collections are hidden when i have the option to show the collections. I did not change anything.
It’s the same of all users, if im connecting with the local ip via web it shows me all the collections, all correct. Also with the app is working well. The problem is with plex online via browser. It dont show the libraies.
Im glad to dont be the only one. At the first i was a little scared xD
Hey guys,
I also encountered these problems and posted it in another now-closed thread.
Since I have hundreds of collections (smart ones as well as those TMDB ones) and I even created posters and descriptions for many of these… I am not amused about how this looks now…
I could offer some developer to contact me about how to get metrics on this to fix this problem once and for all in all aspects mentioned in my earlier post (see link).
The issue has been reported to the developers. They are aware and are working on a fix.
It might not land immediately, since Thanksgiving weekend in the U.S. is upon us.
You might have to wait for a bit for all the caches to expire.
You may be able to speed up the process by force-reloading the web app in your browser. (usually CTRL+F5)
