Plex Metadata Agents Not Working - unless it's Legacy

Server Version#: 1.25.3.5409
Player Version#:

I’ve been running Plex for a few years without issue on FreeNas 11.x. I recently upgraded to TrueNas and added a few new movies in the past couple of months. The new movies would not pull in any metadata or images. If I tried to manually ‘Match’ the movie, there were no options regardless of naming convention (I added year and imdb naming tags without success).

I decided to try and upgrade the jail to 12.x to see if this would help. I screwed something up and ended up reinstalling the plex plugin and recreated all the databases. Now everything without internal metadata will not update unless I place the Agent on "Plex Movie (Legacy)’.

I checked on the console and got an error. Checking ‘Plex Media Server.log’

Jan 21, 2022 16:11:47.902 [0x80f5e9000] ERROR - [MetadataAgent/tv.plex.agents.movie] Unable to find media provider

I’m wondering if this might be a file permissions issue, or network firewall issue? Web access works, LAN streaming works, as well as remote access, so I know it’s not a port forwarding issue. Any ideas?

Your logs are showing some certificate errors.
You could try the following:

  1. browse to the Plex Media Server data directory
  2. open the Cache folder
  3. delete cert-v2.p12
  4. Restart your Plex Media Server (this will then reload/regenerate the certificate)

Thank you. I did catch that one. I had updated the Plex Server to 5409 without closing the web browser. A clean record of the Metadata error is around 16:11 on the 21st.
