PLEX Missing Entire TV Series

Hi. I have been using PLEX for a number of years and haven’t had any problems that I couldn’t fix - until now. I have added a TV series to my library and PLEX is ignoring it. First - some history: I first added “The Planets (2019)” to my library and PLEX, in it’s wisdom, added it to my “The Planets (2017)” directory (all directory names are from TVDB). There were duplicate entries in PLEX and when I looked at the info both files, in different directories were named. After checking this forum I changed the series names from 1 digit to 2 (ie: from “1” to “01”) and did the “PLEX Dance”. Now the 2019 series is missing completely. PLEX is not showing the “The Planets (2019)” library at all.

Here is my directory structure…

Directory of E:\TV

<DIR> The Planets
<DIR> The Planets (2017)
<DIR> The Planets (2019)

Directory of E:\TV\The Planets\Season 1

The Planets - S01E01 - Different Worlds.mp4
The Planets - S01E02 - Terra Firma.mp4
The Planets - S01E03 - Giants.mp4
—etc—

Directory of E:\TV\The Planets (2017)\Season 01

The Planets (2017) - S01E01 - Jupiter King of the Planets.mkv
The Planets (2017) - S01E02 - Mars The Definitive Guide.mkv
The Planets (2017) - S01E03 - Venus The Hell Planet.mkv
—etc—

Directory of E:\TV\The Planets (2017)\Season 02

The Planets (2017) - S02E01 - Earth The Secret History.mkv
The Planets (2017) - S02E02 - Alien Planets Cosmic Nightmares.mkv
The Planets (2017) - S02E03 - Milky Way The Monster Inside.mkv
—etc—

Directory of E:\TV\The Planets (2019)\Season 01

The Planets (2019) - S01E01 - A Moment in the Sun - The Terrestrial Planets.mkv
The Planets (2019) - S01E02 - The Two Sisters - Earth & Mars.mkv
The Planets (2019) - S01E03 - The Godfather Jupiter.mkv
—etc—

Give the oldest The Planets also a release year (1999 in this case)

Perform the Plex Dance with all shows which were involved in the mixup/mismatch you encountered earlier.

Add the shows back only one after another, not all at once in one library scan.

Well… that did nothing. I even added the year to the individual episodes in “The Planets (1999)”. Added each series individually and refreshed after each one. “The Planets (2019)” is still missing and is not duplicated in the other series.

And you did the Plex Dance?

Yes - did the PLEX Dance between each library addition.

I just noticed something a little weird (as if this is not weird enough).
When I “Scan Library Files” for this library, I get the following messages in the Alert Log:

5:09PM Scanning The Planets (2019)\Season 01
5:09PM Scanning The Planets (2019)
5:09PM Scanning The Planets (2017)\Season 01
5:09PM Scanning The Planets (2017)\Season 02
5:09PM Scanning The Planets (2017)
5:09PM Scanning The Planets (1999)\Season 01
5:09PM Scanning The Planets (1999)

As you can see “The Planets (2019)” is listed but the episodes are not.

none of the episodes for any that were scanned in have a blue #2 on them?

Your library settings is only E:\TV correct?

I believe that I have figured it out.
Since the problem seemed to be with the 2019 directory, I removed everything from PLEX (and did the PLEX dance). Then I added back only the 2019 directory.
After I did the library refresh, I noticed that PLEX identified the library as “The Planets (2017)”, which is incorrect.
I did a “Fix Match” on this directory and pointed it back to the right name.
PLEX then recognized this as the 2019 library.
I then added back the 2 other directories, one at a time, and did a library refresh each time. These directories were correctly named by PLEX.
So - it looks like it was the 2019 library after all. Why it was incorrect in PLEX I’ll never know, but at least it is correct now.
Thanks to all for the help on this.
