Plex mixing up audio stream (I have selected English and it plays eg Spanish)

I am so frustrated with Plex and nvidia shield at the moment

Bought a brand new shield that wasn’t updated to Android 11

Reinstalled plex and set up my media server. Now when I play movies plex defaults to say English dts ma which is right but that file plays the Spanish track.

On DVDs I might be selecting pcm stereo and it goes to the other 5.1 mix.

It is completely random and super annoying.

Before you say anything about the file there is nothing wrong with the files. Just how plex is reading them.
It was working perfectly on my last shield before Android 11 came and stuffed everything up for me on that one.

I have to say I am considering cancelling my plex pass now. It’s a great player but so buggy and finicky sometimes and this is causing me more headaches than it is worth at the moment.

Any ideas on how this can be fixed?

Any assistance. This isn’t shield specific. I tried this on my second shield and it’s the exact same problem.

My plex server is now lost now even on my old machine.

This upgrade from nvidia is a absolute disaster

It’s completely random.

Some files accurately choose the right audio streams

Ie stereo pcm outputs stereo pcm
5.1 outputs 5.1

Other files says it is stereo pcm and outputs 5.1 and vice versa

This is 100% a plex issue as the audio tracks are correct on other media players…

This is happening on movies and concert videos. Completely random

I can tell because my revue er says pcm but outputs 5.1 when stereo pcm is selected and vice versa on the same file.

Plex and or the shield with Plex is 100% to blame. It’s not the shield as it outputs the correct track on other media players

this is so annoying ,i have got dts 5.1 english selected playing in spanish…force a trascode will fix it but ill loose dolby vision it is a completly disaster… ive cleared my server cache and codecs folder restart it,didnt fix it, cleared the chace on the shield no fix…can someone from plex actually help us??? please

Downgraded to an old beta release and it is working there as expected
Plex for Android 8.27.0.29730-beta

Ok after some testing i can confirm that the last working version for that issue is:
8.27.2.29938

The bug was introduced in 8.28.0.30077-835147728

Use 8.27.2.29938 until a fix surfaces.

just manually installed the apk u mentioned and u right
about everything
i will refrain from update u til i see the fix within the realises note
yesterday to find the atmos track of ghostbuster afterlife toll me a few minutes ( over 12 audio in the file )

I believe this is an exoplayer and/or demuxer issue.

The demuxer had been updated for Android mobile, but not in Android TV.

Exoplayer was just updated in the Android beta (9.0), if you want to test, but there were other bugs introduced after 8.30.2 (version I’m at), so beware.

Note: I had this issue on my Android phone (Pixel 3), but not on my Android TV (Shield Pro), oddly enough. It seems to have been fixed on my phone after the demuxer update, which is why I think that’s the primary problem.

nope still mix up the tracks
if starting from the menu plays it fine 80 percent of the cases but if changing during playback still mixes up the tracks
nightmare !!
