I’ve had a couple of movies now, that when scanning, the agent has created duplicates. If I click “Fix Match” I see the movie has two entries from the agent.
I have “empty trash” disabled and this is a new issue.
The current movie in question is Once Upon a Deadpool (2018), but this is the third time its happend.
Looking at your various posts, you should really familiarize yourself on how Plex can deal with different editions instead of all the getting them mixed up and having to split them.
There’s plex://movie/5d7770a996b655001fe9bc1d, which has a single <Guid>, tmdb://567604, and plex://movie/5ea7de520f75ff0042aaa984, which is associated with tvdb://353. Maybe the fact that the entry on TVDB doesn’t have a content rating set is preventing them from being combined? The TVDB version does list the TMDB entry as an external link.
Once Upon a Deadpool is a slightly modified version of Deadpool 2. Honestly, I’m rather surprised that Plex/TVDB/TMDB supports it as a standalone movie with a separate database entry, but I suppose it was different enough to warrant an entirely separate entry. The “Zach Snyder’s Justice League” is also like that, having a separate movie entry for it rather than being an “edition” of the regular “Justice League” movie.
@tom80H I’m have understanding about editions… These are not two different version, I replaced a verson with different encoding and the file names although not the same, do not have edition naming conventions.
I think @DTR has found the issue. Based on the IDs, its looks like Plex is scrapping data from two different souces and therefore there are two entries. Its feels bug like.
Plex always scrapes from multiple sources, but it collapses everything into a single entry. If you look at the XML for a movie like LOTR: Return of the King you’ll see three <Guid>s, imdb, tmdb, and tvdb. I mentioned the content rating difference because Plex handles unrated content different from rated content in some circumstances (e.g. anything that doesn’t have a rating isn’t searchable at watch.plex.tv IIRC), so that might be the reason they’re not combining, but that’s mostly conjecture.
