Plex Movie Agent error

Server Version#: 3.67.1
Player Version#:

My movie, named: “Shaun of the Dead (2004)” gets recognized as “Angels & Demons 2009”.

I have the Plex Movie scanner on top and Local media assets off.

What is the exact name of the file?
Is it located in a subfolder of its own or is it in a folder together with other movie files?
Is there a .nfo file in this folder?
Have you verified the file is a valid video file and plays alright in e.g. VLC?
Have you performed the Plex Dance with it?

In its own folder with the same name as the file.

Is there a .nfo file in this folder?
Yes, but Local media scanner is off.

Yes, it’s fine.

Have you performed the [Plex Dance] with it?
Partly,
I have manually corrected the identification for the movie.
Moved the file off the plex folder
Scanned my media folder.
Emptied my trashcan.
Added the movie with plex suggested naming scheme.

When I manually match the movie, I get two entries @ 100.
Shaun of the Dead 2004 and Angels & Demons 2009

I can’t understand it since it isn’t even the correct year.

That doesn’t matter. It is the scanner which looks for the IMDB ID in the nfo file.
The LMA agent is not involved with this.
So if there is a .nfo file, it better have the right ID in it. (tt0365748 in this case)

If the dance is not performed in full, with all steps in the right order, it is useless.

Bingo!

I thought it only looked there if LMA was active, thanks!
It immediately found it correctly now!
