ONE movie not scraping correctly...

Hello!  First off -- Here is my first post obligatory THANK YOU!!!!! for a great product and support.  I have been using plex (and forum lurking) with a pass for about 6 months and plex without for about just as long before that.  It is the best solution i have found so far not to mention the easiest.

I do have one TINY problem that i cannot figure out.  I have one single movie out of thousands and thousands of pieces of media that does not want to scrape correctly.  I have literally searched for hours and tried everything i can think of and everything i have read on the forums.

Here is the location and naming that it is currently set to:

X:\Movies\21 Jump Street (2012)\21 Jump Street.mkv

I have tried the year in the file name and just about every possible difference there.  I have matched it to IMDB and TMDB and rescraped.  I have tried to manually match it.  The metadata is pulled and written correctly but under "Activity/Alerts in PMS" when a scan is invoked, this movie ALWAYS shows up and although the movie looks good in the library, my OCD kicks in in the back of my mind.

Any help would be appreciated.  I hope this is a quick open and closed case.

Thanks again,

Mitch

Path matched, we're reusing media item 24623

"Re-using", meaning it is not matched new. Plex just connects the changed filename to the old (wrong) metadata.

you need to perform the Plex Dance™ after you rename the media item.

Next time, name it plex-conforming before you add it to plex.

There is software which helps you with that.

btw. this file name matched instantly on my server:

Movies\21 Jump Street (2012)\21 Jump Street (2012) - 1080p.mkv

THANKS.  Plex Dance worked a treat.  Not sure how i hadn't stumbled across it in the past in my searches?

One question:  Do you think that cleaning trash and cleaning bundles actually cleared some stuff up?  I kept my naming convention the same...

I'm not sure how i had problems with this ONE and only movie since i have rebuilt my database a few times and the issue re-occured.

Regardless, thank you very very much. that was very fast and painless.  I feel silly now.

Have a great day!

Mitch

No. Cleaning bundles just deletes metadata for files that are not in your libraries anymore.

Ususally when the movie file name starts with a number, you need to exercise caution and stick closely to the naming guideline.

Otherwise Plex may think the file is actually a tv show episode (which is completely ignored in a movie library) or it may think it is only a part of a movie or something.

EDIT:  I checked my logs and i messed something up.  all is good.  sorry for any inconveniences!

Put the movie into its own subfolder, named exactly like the Movie's title plus release year in parentheses `21 Jump Street (2012)`

Make a new text file, copy this into it:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1232829/

rename the text file to

21 Jump Street (2012).nfo

Put this file beside your movie file.

This the link to the IMDB for this movie. The plex movie scanner looks for this file and uses the IMDB ID (tt1232829) to help matching the movie.

You can use this trick for particularly hard to match movies (usually those titles that start with a number).

It actually wasn’t fixed. It started acting up a bit a week later. I have learned to live with it. I will try a custom NFO, but part of the reason I use plex is to avoid that

EDIT: custom NFO didn’t work.

I think the file name must be

21 Jump Street (2012)-imdb.nfo

Ot it will not work
