I accidentally added a folder with TV shows to a movie folder and of course it tried to add TV shows. I removed the folder but it wont remove the TV shows.
I can of course just create a new movie folder and remake all of it but that will take some time as well as shouldn’t be as simple as just removing the added folder and then emptying the trash?
Am I missing something?
You need to “Scan Library”. If your media is external to the server, you need to do an active scan to get the server to detect the files are gone.
If this fails, click on the triple dot for an episode and click “Get Info” to see the path to the file. Check to make sure you don’t accidentally have a copy of the TV show somewhere still in the movie folder that Plex is picking up.
Another thing to check, is edit the library and see what source folders you are targetting. Make sure the target(s) are still correct, and you didn’t include a folder which has TV shows in a subfolder (Plex scans ALL subfolders recursively, in the Movies library type, so don’t nest TV shows under movies).

Tried all of it and no luck.
The folder is a TV folder 1 level off of the base drive containing TV files only. Nothing movie related on that drive so no accidental sub folder issue. Double checked the files and those files are only tied to that folder. It was just an accidental add to a long established movie folder so every file added occurred at that point.
When I put it on the TV folder that I actually intended, it did what it should.
Like I said I can redo the folder to solve my issue it just seems like removing a folder and emptying the trash should reconcile plex from a software development standpoint.

What did you actually add and remove? Folders to the drive or folders to your Plex library? If you added the folder to the Plex library then physically removed the folder off the drive but didn’t remove it form the Plex library, then those entries will stick around. Plex will not update a library if the library folder points to an empty/unavailable location. If this is the case, remove the folder from the library setting.
Like this. If any of these folders are empty/unavailable, the library will not update the contents from that folder.
As your picture shows this is where i added the folder. After I realized the mistake, I removed that folder from this same screen.
I never touched the actual folder on the actual drive on the PC.
Removing the folder from there should have worked. Do these videos have a trash can icon on them? If so you need to empty the trash. Otherwise something is wrong. Can you scan for updates then get me your logs.
