Plex Movies - Extras - TheMovieDB - Agents

I just started playing around with extras and am having trouble getting movie extras to show up. I’ve been adding a few documentaries to TheMovieDB, so the metadata would show up in Plex.

I have one documentary with a featurette. I followed the naming format and copied it into the “movie” folder with -featurette after the name. Plex didn’t find the metadata so I selected ‘match’ and specified the TheMovieDB as the agent. It found and added the correct metadata. However, the Extra never showed up. I played around with it for a while and finally noticed that if I moved the movie out of the folder, and then back into the folder, it would find the movie, and show the featurette, but not find the metadata. When I tried to use ‘match’ it would find the metadata, but the featurette would disappear. How do I get the correct metadata to show up, and the featurette?

Here is a link to TheMovieDB entry I added.

How do I get the Plex Movie agent to recognize this entry? Should I be entering this into IMDB?

Thanks,

Steve Ford

You must match the movie with the TMDB agent, not with the ‘Plex movie’ agent.

The extra is a so-called ‘local asset’. If you want to see local assets with a movie that has been matched with the TMDB agent, you need to enable ‘Local Media Assets’ under
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - TheMoviedatabase

Thanks. I read your reply and I think I actually heard the click when it finally made sense to me. Appreciate the help. All good now.
