Plex movies from my local library do not play through my Amazon Firestick 4K

When we try to play a movie from our MacPro installed Plex server using the Amazon FireStick 4K client, we see the movies in the Plex app but when we try to play them we get a rotating wheel and then the app goes back to the list of the movies in the Plex app. The movie never plays.

What are we doing wrong?
