Plex MS won’t stay open

My Plex Pass update went to 1.27 and since then seems to quit a bit after being launched. It will show media and play media for the short couple minutes it’s launched. Just won’t stay open. Tried to download the non-Plex Plass release to downgrade and now that doesn’t seem to actually view my library despite the app being stable and staying open.

Anyone else experience this? Any ideas what issue I should look for with the downgrade? Thanks!

Server logs might show what’s wrong with your setup. If the database got fried, reinstalling different versions of the app won’t make a difference.

I’ll get server logs over here in a bit, was trying to work on it while not at home but realize hard to help without those.

I will add, the recent Plex Pass build does show my library and does play, and then the stable build does not. So I don’t think it’s a fried database.

Here is the log:
Plex Media Server.log (270.8 KB)

Could you upload a zip-file of the entire PMS log folder (or at least the numbered versions of the Plex Media Server.log)? The file you have uploaded only contains the log information since your server restarted after its last crash – nothing about the crash itself.

Here you go… appreciate the assist.

It appears the Plex Media Server is shutting down “regularly” based on a perceived shutdown command. Does your Mac reboot when you experience this issue?

The Mac has not been rebooting. I have shut down Plex manually a couple times the past few days as I try to deal with which version is the way forward.

Today’s preview seems to keep the app stable for me but only some of my library is showing (workouts, but not tv, and movies). I’m trying to pull an old database from Time Machine and see if rolling back to that solves anything.

I have the same issue, it only stays open while a scan is happening, then shuts off
