Server Version#: 1.18.8.2468
iOS Player Version#: 6.8
I recently noticed that with the iOS Plex app that when I play music and try to set the repeat to one or all, after the song(s) end the Plex app closes and nothing is repeated.
this happens whether the phone is locked or not
when the phone is locked the Plex player is shown but once the song is over the default iOS music player is shown instead
it doesn’t matter if it is music that is streamed, synced locally or in a playlist
the web player appears to be ok when I tried it though PMS
I know that this used to be an issue a while back that somewhere along the line got fixed but it appears to have resurfaced again.
I also noticed that once the music stopped and I logged back into Plex, the song is shown (i.e. takes up the page) but clicking on the play button does nothing. I have to x out of the song and play it again.
I’ve sort of been able to reproduce this. If I use Repeat All with a single track, then playback ends, with Repeat One on, it’s fine. I can’t reproduce the issue at all if I’m using an album. If you can reproduce and provide logs, that would be great
I upgraded the Plex server to 1.18.8.2527 and now I see a different behaviour.
Now if I set the repeat of a single track to one, when it gets to the end of the track it now repeats as expected but it still “crashes” as in the iOS player UI is no longer showing Plex.
Logging into Plex does show the track as expected and I have full control (i.e. can stop/pause, etc).
So apparently the slight change in behaviour I noted above is because that test was at home in my network.
The original behaviour I posted still happens when I’m connecting remotely to Plex. Perhaps when it crashes when I’m remote it cannot re-establish the connection to continue the music but it can when I’m local?
