The file(s) I’m talking about are H265 (Hevc) 1080p. They are played with DirectPlay
First of all I tried to play the same files with directplay in emby, there I have 0 problems.
When I try to play the same files (H265, 1080p) in Plex with Directplay then the files stutters (no buffering but microstutter like jitter). What makes it more strange is when I play 4K HDR (also h265) then the files are played perfectly. The only solution for the 1080p files seems to enable transcoding which I dont want.
The Plex team really should look into this because this is a problem for years now and the Emby client plays the same files without any problems (also DirectPlay).
I have the latest Plex Client on iOS 16 on a iPhone 14 Pro but as I stated before this problem exists for a couple of years. I had exact the same problems on my iPhone 8 and iPhone 13 mini.
