Just started happening recently, when I add new shows its not automatically scanning the new folder for changes, I have to manually scan library to take new episode additions. I havent changed any settings recently and this was working like a charm a month ago

Automatic updates require some kind of trigger from the underlying operating system:

Some operating systems don’t provide this trigger and content mounted via a network will also typically not work. If your library doesn’t automatically scan, you may have to set a periodical scan or do it manually.
thanks for the quick reply, however its a windows system and in the past 4 years ive never had to change anything it just picks up the new files instantly.
the article you submitted doesnt have specific windows settings to verify, is there something specific within the windows settings to enable automatic pickup?
