Having an issue that has just started happening and i have no idea why…
Plex downloads all the correct metadata including posters etc but doesn’t actually enable/choose/select a poster from what it downloads.
It just sits with the grey blank style image.
I can edit anything and the posters are there but obviously this isn’t right…
Any ideas on why this could be?
Running in a FreeNAS 11.2 Jail with no issues for months until now.
OMFG… Somehow “Local Media Assets (Movies)” was enabled and moved to the top…

I have sort of the same problem with Plex on my SHIELD.
Posters/Covers dosen’t show up on the SHIELD but show fine on all other players like iOS, Plex Media Player for MacOS etc. I have tried to reset my SHIELD to factory settings and that didn’t work.
I have also access to another Plex server and the posters/covers shows up fine on my SHIELD for that but not for my server anymore.
Longshot, disable IPv6 internet protocal in your network adaptor.

This isn’t an issue with Plex retrieving or sending the posters. They are there. Plex just isnt using them
I have to manually edit each movie/show eveythi g and choose the poster.
Oh and it is only existing libraries.
If I create a new one choosing the same location as any of the existing ones it works fine.
But of course if I do that I lose all my watched data so that’s no good.
Completely different issue.
All players don’t show the posters. The server has them. It’s just not using them.
I can create a new library linked to the exact same videos and it shows the posters no problem even with the exact same settings chosen.
It is as far as i can tell an issue with the database but what i have no idea…
If anyone needs logs or whatever i can upload anything needed.
Still working on this…
So far i have tried setting my library’s to empty folders and waiting for Plex to notice they are missing and clear them all out.
Then the whole database clean out and adding again.
No go. Still not using the posters…
So i tried the database repair i found here
No dice. Still nothing.
WTF is going on here dammit! Either i have a setting wrong (i hadn’t changed anything) or there is a problem with my database?
Is there somewhere i can go to find someone from Plex to see if they can help seeing as i am a Plex Pass user?
Ok. In the end i was able to fix this issue.
It required exporting the watch data as linked above. Deleting then entire jail. Making a new jail. Importing the watch data and adding the libraries back in.
All working again.
