Plex not able to see inside main folder (video) should show TV Shows & Movies

Hi Guys

I’m really started to get annoyed now. I have recently reset my NAS along with the content on there. It is now up and running - however when using Plex - it does not allow me to add in the TV Shows or Movies folder into the path.

I have attached the setup in what I have - any idea on what to do?

I have the full lifetime for plex - and it’s just not being able to lookup off my NAS.

Thanks trumpy81 - I have done that - now created a Media folder and put movies and tv shows in there.

However - when I upload new episodes into the folders - it doesn’t update into Plex automatically - is there a way to do that?

Thanks - just did that too! Will check in a bit - to see if the files have come over into Plex.

When you log in via the synology dashboard - do you get this screen about 4/5 times in a row?

I have a DS412+ - does that mean I won’t be able to get the latest update for it either DS 7?

Hi…

I’m having some trouble with Plex and my NAS. Part of Media folder - I have cartoons, tv shows, movies and documentaries. The documenatires folder doesn’t show all the content I have in Plex - but in Mac Finder - it shows all the files.

Any idea what I can do to fix that?

The problem comes from being copied over by SMB (from the MAC).

Using FileStation,

To into the shared folder,
Right-click the top-most folder you want to correct the permissions for.

In this screenshot, I selected TV.

1. Open File Station
2. Right-click the top most folder
3. Properties
4. Permissions.
5. Set them as they should be . (“Others” is for everyone else – including Plex )

6. Apply to This Folder , Sub Folders, and Files.

I did try that - didn’t seem to work - I don’ t know why. I did check my synologoy video station - and they all are showing in there - but not in plex!
