Hello,
I use the sync feature for years to have my TV-Shows and movies with me when I am away from home avoiding heavy data consumption in weak hotel WiFis.
I switched on the new Download functionality and on my iPad as well as on my iPhone, Imarked several shows for download.
In the download section, I see the ‘downloading’ markers forever (left the device running all through the night) - and just nothing happened and ever gets downloaded.
Do if the sync option (which works pretty forward and reliable) is switched off by the end of the year and even synced content is deleted, Plex gets totally unusable, when away from home…
Yes, the library (on a Macbook) is large, but running all through the night (even tried with a single audio file…) can’t be the solution !
Regards,
Stefan
Try to make sure there’s no leftover sync items before activating the new downloads feature. You should be able to switch back and delete all previous sync jobs – once done, give Plex a moment to actually delete the underlying files (IIRC this wasn’t always immediate w/ sync). Only then switch on the new downloads feature and start downloading items.
From what I’ve seen in the forum, some users had issues w/ the new download feature due to some DNS rebind issues on their server (fixed by allowing Plex to connect to plex.direct)
