I get them to show up now but the meta data etc is all wrong

/Ideal (2005) s01e01 The Rat.ext <-- sXXeYY required; ext=mkv/mp4/etc.
Give the file the actual extension - .mkv, .mp4, etc., not .ext.

In November 2006, Ideal received the award for Best Comedy Programme at the [Royal North West Comedy Awards . Plex should have the data! it was made by the bbc the series
Ive totally given up, ill do it manually
Plex has the info. It matches and pulls metadata immediately on my system.
Make sure the Plex server has a solid Internet connection, so it can retrieve the information.
Then Plex Dance the entire series.
If it still does not match, pull the Plex server logs and upload them to the thread.

This is not a Plex issue
This is 100% a naming and folder structure issue. Your logs show: /Volumes/Tony Salmon/Plex Media server/Plex Meia TV/Ideal/Ideal bbc -so1e01/Ideal (2005):Season 01:ideal(2005)-so1e01.mkv Which has numerous errors, use something like:

i did what the plex nija told me to do
so how can it be a naming issue
what the hell do i name them?
that last picture is not what is in the log files I saw. there are two things I would suggest, in your edit library check your add folders section and make sure that points to the tv directory in your screenshot. If that is the only thing in that library delete it and re-create the library, otherwise perform the Plex Dance.
PS please post new logs after you do that.
i deleted the library totally, restarted my pc , then re added everything then it works.
Sounds like it needed a Plex Dance, If that is the only show in the library, deleting and recreating is sometimes needed, after you have multiple shows you can follow the Plex Dance instructions after fixing something like this naming issue with far less headaches.
