It was another cache issue.

Thanks. Just came around to look what happened. Re-linked the LG app and that worked.

Today Plex for LG updated 5.81.1 → 5.82.2, and that caused all this mess.

Anyone else having this issue again? I have 3 lg tvs in the house and they are all black screening again.

Plex is fine on my unraid machine, it works on my phone so its just the tvs again like last time.

It was also working fine a few hours ago on the same tvs.

@ChuckPa this issue seems to be happening again on both my Vizio Samsung and LG tvs. No issue from web iPhone or iPads.

Now received this issue with my LG C9. Hoping this will get some attention again as I was hoping to use it tonight.

My LG G2 (with 2022 WebOS) stopped working today with this problem too. The Plex App on the TV flashes up the logo as usual and then has a stuck blank screen. It doesn’t work.

The TV was working fine yesterday (24 hours ago) when I last used Plex and I’ve otherwise had 6 months of good operation with it.

What can I do to help troubleshoot this?

I just opened my LG C1 app. It did take a bit to load after the Plex logo (where it downloads the updated app).

Can you force-terminate your app in WebOS and kick it again?

If you still can’t get it to load, I will notify the web-tv team to :hammer: the distribution pipeline again

For me, this magically started working again the next day. I have no idea what glitched out but it’s all good now.

my situation is similar, but different. No black screen. I can access my Qnap server remotely through mobile phone app and computer (which is on the same router network as my LG TV) but the Plex app on LG TV can open and see Plex media, but cannot access my Qnap NAS (which is remote). I have tried the various advice to solve this problem, but still cannot access. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

I am experiencing the same issue on my LG C1 as of this morning. The app worked fine last night, but now when I open the app I see the Plex logo splash screen followed an unending black screen.

I can still play media from the server using the web and mobile Plex apps.

After viewing a number of threads on the issue, I expect that this issue can only be resolved by a Plex engineer manually addressing a cache issue. @ChuckPa tagging you to see if you can take a look.

btw this auto update of the app in the webos version is really annoying, it should be possible to disable it
