The artist Solarstone has three strangely-named albums that Plex is just refusing to see: .----, …—, and …–.
They are correctly placed in my music folder, then artist folder, then album, and two other albums in the same artist folder are detected without issue, so I know Plex is able to see them. For some reason, these three are simply being ignored.
I’m guessing here, but I believe the periods (dots) are ruining the matching. Dots are normally only in a title just prior to the extension. Could you not give them names like Solarstone1, Solarstone2, Solarstone3 so that PLEX sees something, then fix match to correct the association to metadata and edit the library entry to rename the artist, album, and title. Could be a workaround for a small number of files. My 2 cents
Solved this by breaking the “rules” for naming folders, so instead of Music\Artist\Album, I’ve had to set these three as Music\Artist\Artist - Album. Only mildly irritating but it works.
Yeah this is one of those edge cases where the scanner’s ‘intelligent’ interpretation of folder names doesn’t work. I guess it’s easy to fix manually if you only have a handful of them.
