Plex not recognising metadata changes

Hi,

Whenever I change the metadata of an album (AFTER its already been added to Plex), ie the Artist or Album name, or reformatting my multidisc CD’s into “Disc 1” and “Disc 2” Plex does not update the changes

Ive tried Refresh Metadata, Analyze, Scan Library files and nothing happens.

Ive tried this on both my Music Libraries (I have duplicated the Music Library into one that uses embedded and one that doesnt use the embedded metadata)

The only way to get Plex to recognise the changes is to remove the album from the Music folder, wait for Plex to recognise that its missing (which it doesnt always do either) and then Empty the trash. Then move the album back into the music folder and allow Plex to rematch it.

Is there any other solution to this ?

That would be The Plex Dance ™ and that’s what you need to do.
