Plex Not Recognizing my Username & Password Anymore

I have been a Plex member since it began many years ago…and using it almost daily, as has my family, to access movies and TV shows on my home Mac computer/server. I have been using the same username on Plex since day one, and have changed the password every year. Yesterday, however, for no reason at all, Plex stopped recognizing my username and password. To complicate things, my user name is my email address…but with a typo in it. For whatever reason, Plex support back in the day (a decade ago?) wasn’t able to correct this, so I have lived with it without a problem ever since. But now that I am having a problem, I can’t use “forgot my password” to have Plex send me a new password, since the email address associated with my account is wrong. And now there is nobody at Plex who will get back to me to correct this issue. I am using Plex Media Server version 1.29.2.6364-6d72b0cf6, if that helps.

To clarify a few things. Your username is not your email address. Plex stopped allowing an email address as the username years ago.

I’m not sure why you couldn’t get help changing your email address, that is something they can do. FYI, you can change the email address on your account yourself too, as long as you know the current password and the email isn’t being used on another Plex account.

Edit - If you don’t have access to the email on your account, write from an email you do have access to and provide your Plex email address in the message.
