Plex not showing a lot of movies in some folers

Player Version#: Chrome

I have a external disk thats mounted as /mnt/filmy/Filmy “Filmy is a root path of the drive” there is a folder ( novinky 2022) containing a 43 Movies (mkv, mp4)

And plex only shows 24 and if renamed some they continue to disappear…
In the server logs it says this:

Afaik it just skips it and i dont know what is wrong…

If you need to rename many files:

Many people use Filebot. It is quite powerful and can rename an entire library in minutes.

Tiny Media Manager is also very useful, and free.

TMM Renamer Patterns:

  • Show Name: ${showTitle} (${showYear})
  • Season: Season ${seasonNr2}
  • Episode Name: ${showTitle} (${showYear}) s${seasonNr2}e${episodeNr2} ${episode.title}
  • Movie Name: ${title} (${year}) {imdb-${imdb}}

PowerRenamer in Microsoft Power Tools is helpful for simple renaming with pattern matches or regular expressions. It makes quick work of tasks such as adding a year to file names, removing undesirable text from multiple files, etc

They now have to be organized? Had it like this for almost a year and never organized anyhting just by year into folders

If you have Plex pointing at the Filmy folder it probably thinks “novinky 2022” is an actual movie

When it comes to movies Plex does not support multiple sub-folders. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t

  1. All of those movies should be inside the Filmy folder (eliminating the novinky 2022 folder)

OR

  1. You have to move the Novinky 2022 folder outside of the Filmy folder and point Plex directly at it

  2. You have to make sure all the movies inside the novinky 2022 folder are named following the guidelines Fordguy outlined. The minimum requirement for this is the the movie name and date in parenthesis
