Plex not showing certain tags?

Hi @ all,

why does plex ignore some album tags (here cover art) when it does show them on other albums? I have all my albums tagged the same way. here is an example. tags are present, but plex does NOT show them unfortunately.

Are those mp3 files? <— I seem to recall some issue with some types of files - I may be crazy.

Is Local Media Assets for Music checked/enabled?

In MP3Tag, when you click in the ‘songs area’ and hit ‘Ctl-A’ (highlighting all songs) is that album cover still set as the embedded image?

Is your structure something like this:

A Music Library/
…Element Eighty/
…Element Eighty - Element Eighty/
…songs.xxx

Or

A Music Library/
…Element Eighty/
…Element Eighty/ <— Album Name
…songs.xxx

If answers are yes - I have no idea.

Example 1) over here is working as expected.

Log files may help if the above doesn’t help:

Drag zip file to message window and drop it.

dear JuiceWSA ,

thanks for your quick and very productive reply. It is indeed filetype: mp3 and they are tagged all the same (album art). the folder/file structure is exactly as you described in (2) and I do not have a clue why plex simply ignored certain album although I have personal media set under “agents”.
after refreshing metadata it now shows this album, but there are many others where the agent just skipped the already included tags. very strange.

I have ‘Last-fm’ as my Agent.
I have no idea if that makes any difference.
In my case I thought maybe if Last-fm had something I didn’t it would come from there, but once I started adding embedded artwork to all my albums with MP3Tag - I kinda doubt Last-fm is even involved in the process very much. I add the item and it populates itself instantly.
I do try to use the proper Artist and Album name as it’s listed at Last fm, but have found if I just use the proper and correct Album and Artist then embed the artwork I want it shows up every single time just the way I want it.

‘Element Eighty’ is listed over there with all the necessary bits:
