Plex not transcoding DTS to AC3, not respecting Shields supported audio settings

Server Version#: 1.21.1.3795
Player Version#: 8.10.0

TV: Samsung Q80T
Soundbar: Samsung HW-Q80R w/SWA-9000S backspeakers.

Connected: Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019 -> HDMI -> Samsung Q80T -> HDMI eARC -> Samsung Q80R

TV is set to Passthrough.
Nvidia Shield TV Pro is set to Auto-Audio formats, and manual make no difference.
Plex is set to Passthrough HDMI.

I’m having an issue with DTS/DTS-HD audio on my new Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019. In the audio settings of my shield, it is set to support every audio type except DTS and DTS-HD, which my Samsung Q80T can’t passthrough. It seems like Plex does not respect this setting, and direct plays DTS audio without transcoding it to AC3 or similar. This result in the Shield recieving a DTS signal it can’t passthrough, and change it into a 2.0 PCM signal before passing it on.

I’ve researched how to “fix” this, and stumbled upon the possibility to activate optical, then pick AC3 as audio format. This does in fact fix the problem, as plex now transcode everything to AC3 regardless of original format. But it is not really a solution, since I lose Atmos/TrueHD/DD+ etc.

I’m currently left with manually activating optical instead of HDMI passthrough, whenever i’m gonna watch DTS or DTS-HD content.

I would have loved it if Plex respected the settings that Nvidia Shield TV supply in regards to supported formats, and transcode according to this. This feels like a bug, since there is no manual settings for audio formats in the Plex app itself.

Alternatively it would be amazing if I was able to manually set which audio formats I want to direct play in the plex app when I pick HDMI passthrough, similar to how optical works in regards to AC3/DTS.
