Plex not working on Android Clients! HELP!

I have a Western Digital MyCloud Home with Plex server pre-installed. My windows based devices work perfect. My android devices won’t play anything. I can see the Videos through the plex app installed on each device but when I try to play them I get an error message saying “couldn’t play the content, please check your connection and try again”. I have tried adjusting settings, reset to default and even recoding some video but nothing works. Any help would be appreciated.

Would you be able to grab the logs and I can take a look to see why it’s failing to play.

Got the same issues as you. Got a MyCloud Home, been playing Plex perfect on my TLC’s TV’s with the Android software on them. Just a few weeks ago try to play a video on my Plex and it gives me the error “An Error Occurred While Attempting to Play This Video Check the Connection and Try Again” I can see all my files on the Plex but just play back is impossible.
I was thinking it might also need a Plex Firmware update but you can’t seem to update Plex with the MyCloud Home unlike the old OS5 on the old MyCloud NAS from WD

As it was explained to me by Western Digital support any firmware updates would be pushed to the device once they are available. Glad I’m not the only one. Windows and Xbox (both Microsoft) will play anything.

Have a friend that is running the old WD NAS with Plex and they have updates from Plex like every week pretty much. Updates are so easy. But Updates for the MyCloud pushed out by WD doesn’t seem to happen at all pretty much. Its a nightmare

Your right it is the version, but there is no way to update it on a WD Mycloud Home. Its version 1.18.6.2350, but I tried to use my windows plex media server version 1.24.0.xxx and it still didnt work on anything android. I was however able to use chromecast from my desktop to my metronet chromecast built-in box that we use to watch regular tv on.

I have a WD cloud home storage devices 8Tb. I see all the content via Plex, both WD were working fine until a couple days ago the just didn’t play videos and music via Plex, all the time displaying the message " Check your internet connection", and this only happen on android devices.
Is it a problem of a firewall ??

I have also got WD my cloud home storage devices. Mine is 4Tb
I only have my personal music collection installed on this and had been using Plex to cast to my Google home speakers.
Have had this for 2 weeks and was working OK to playback all music from desktop or from android apps.
Since a few days ago, this has changed. Desktop is fine but while I can still see all music on my android devices, playback stopped working. I just get a message saying ‘an error occurred while playing this item’
I dont know what has suddenly changed to stop this from working and cant see anything on the forums that replicates it. Very odd.
Any ideas?
