Plex not working on Samsung UA55JU6400

Since yesterdsy 24/04/20 plex stopped working on my Samsung UA55JU6400 TV.

I believe this TV is roughly 5 years old now.

It opens up the app, but then when logged in, just freezes and cannot do anything on the home screen. I know plex works fine on the devices, laptop and phone it’s just the TV now all of a sudden. Anyone else experienced this issue before and know how to fix?

Will try uninstalll and reinstall app see what happens.

I am currently running version (1.19.2.2702-776106bc6) via Rpi4 on Raspbian OS as my media server.

Uninstalled app. Switched off TV and removed plug.

Reinstalled app again. Hmm still not working…

It logs into plex profile, but then just gets stuck on home screen, can see media server folder s etc but nothing works. Completely frozen cannot navigate up or down, select goto settings, users, or server nothing.

I wonder if that recent PMS update for Linux Rpi4 on 23/04/20 broke compatibility with older tvs i. e my particular model?

I have the same problem here. Since two or three days.
When reinstalling the App on the Samsung TV, I can navigate trough settings, but when I want to go to my collection it hangs. After turning off and on the TV it hangs directly.

I have a UE65HU8500 Samsung TV, My plex server runs on an Apple MAC 27" i7 with 32GB mem and the storage is on a Synology DS 1813+ (Plex uses 25TB of storage).

The app did not get an update, so it must be Plex if you have the same problem!

It is definitely not the Plex app on Samsung TV, as the app last got updated in late 2018.

It must be related to the most recent plex media server update, that is only thing I can think of now.

Is there an archive repo of plex media server historical version for different platforms?
In my case I need the Linux repo and what the previous release version was?

I need previous release to the current latest one for ( ubuntu 16.04+ / Debian (8+) - ARMv7

Many more with this problem, I believe they are working on it.
Here is a solution but it’s for Windows :frowning:

Good to know its not just me :stuck_out_tongue:

I guess there will be a future PMS update to fix this issue otherwise its a rollback to previous version.

Hopefully update comes out soon :slight_smile:

Early next week there will be an update to the BETA stream which fixes it…
