Having a problem with Plex on Samsung TV UN55H6300

Server Version#: 1.23.3.4692
Player Version#: 2.004

After updating from the 4692 version to any of the later versions results in a “Server Not Found - Content is no longer available” error on this particular Samsung TV when trying to play any video. Once I down level to the 4692 version I can play everything once more.

If there is anything I can provide to resolve this issue, I would be happy to do so.

i think i am having the same issues with my samsung UE55JU7080
this morning everything was working fine. Updated over lunch and now the TV App can still connect to PMS and list all media, but as soon as i try to play any media i get the error message “cannot connect to selected server or media is no longer available”

reset the app on the tv - same Problem. all other players (web external and internal) still work fine.
ist there an easy way to downgrade PMS on win10?
Current PMS Version: 1.23.5.4801

I’m encountering the same issue.
Plex app version 2.005
PMS Version 1.23.4.4805 on Ubuntu server
I’ve tried resetting the samsung app settings, but the problem persists.

After enabling logging from the Samsung Plex smarthub app I see the following:

All you need to do is run an earlier release and it will overwrite the code, at least that was what I did with my QNAP NAS.

Also, I was able to update the Plex app on my tv to version 2.012 from 2.004 and that resolved the issue. My other Samsung is running 2.011 and that didn’t have the issue.

See if you can update the app from the app store on the TV.

Managed to upgrade the Plex app on my TV from 2.005 to 2.012 by first deleting the existing app
(following these instructions) and then redownloading it through the Samsung TV “app store”. After doing so I was able to play videos through the app again, thanks for the help @pvoveris!

Glad I was able to help, hopefully Fare will give that a try as well.

i did, thank you! deleted the app the wrong way first time around. Just re installed it and now it grabbed the latest version. so much for the auto update at the not so smart hub.

Glad to hear it.

Hopefully the Plex app won’t progress to a point where these versions 2.011 and 2.012 stop working.

Hi, I have the same issue as described here,

But I am using client version 2.013. Is there something more that I am missing regarding this issue? An upgrade to the client version appears to have fixed this for you.

Hang tight. I think I have been deceived. The app store version is 2.013 and I thought that meant I was running 2.013. But inside the app it is showing as 2.005. Deleting the app and installing from scratch indeed fixes this.

Thanks for your forum post, it has me back up and running.

I’m having the same issues with my Samsung UN50JS700F, but only when trying to shuffle my music library from my NAS. Content from a friend’s library/server has no issue. Streaming the content from the NAS to my phone or the web app has no issues. Not sure if it’s similar or coincidental. Going to try the fix suggested above by uninstalling/reinstalling the app on the TV and see if it resolves. Testing it currently through a PS4 Plex app to see if it’s also a potential NAS issue as well.

My problem is rather strange. I am using Plex through a Western Digital My Cloud Home which is plugged directly via ethernet into my Telstra Smart Modem 2 Arcadyan modem/router. When i turn on any one of my 2 Samsung smart TV’s OR my PS5, the app will work if i activate it right away. If i decide to play a game, watch TV etc and then decide i want go back and watch something on my plex, it comes up as ‘indirect’ server, takes long to load, and if it does play a file, the file is extremely pixelated. I have to then disconnect the TV from the internet and then reconnect for it to work again. Strange!. ALSO, since i updated my modem, i cannot cast from the Plex app on my iphone to my google chromecast which is on another TV in my garage. It connects though cannot cast. This too was not a problem with my old modem.
My set up worked perfectly fine until my internet provider being Telstra sent me this new modem. Everything got plugged in the same, and this issue started to arise.
I have spoken to my internet provider Telstra and they stated that their modem is fine with no issues. I spoke to Western Digital and they suggested to talk to Plex.
I am a Plex member and i would love to be able to access my media without any connectivity issues. Any assistance would be really appreciated.
