So using the newest versions of the Player and PMS on my Nvidia Shield has been a total nightmare where it wasn’t before.
Firstly The PMS, for some unknown reason when i reboot my shield it doesn’t see it, i have to manually uninstall PMS and reinstall it, go through the setup and walla, everything shows up except some of my movies. Only 14 / 20 movies show up, never did this befire either.
Yes I cann access my external HDD via PC to my Shield and all my movies shows up fine. Just not all of them, again 14 / 20.
Second issue, I have a HDHomeRun that’s always worked before, deleted and readded the DVR but still issues. Shows all the channels the guide everything. Go to my player, select a channel says it can’t connect please check your network, networks is green accessable but no worky.
I can confirm the channels work because the HD Home Run player works fine.
As far as the movies they are alll on the HDD and all work as I used VLC.
I have even port forwarded and still no worky.
I’ve even checked all premissions for both client and PMS and allowed access is on.
I’ve tried everything and no matter what i do, nothing works.
I’ve posted on Nvidia forums as well but to be frank I am exhausted and annoyed with both Plex and Nvidia, and ready to throw them both in the garbage can.
It annoys me how two companies can just wack things up so bad it just breaks both the device and the software. It seems these issues haven’t been addressed and I am ready to give up on both Plex and my Shield.
Hate to be blunt but if these companies would put the crack pipe down and actually fix these issues rather then break things maybe just maybe it would work the way it should.
I honestly wish Plex and Nvidia would stop coming out with updates that brick stuff because they think features outweigh the once working versions.
Sometimes upgrades and updates are not always the answer just because you feel it’s better. We paid for services and hardware, we did not pay for junk we can’t use because neither side has a fix or a solution. Spending hours on this made me very angry and disgusted with both parties.
This needs to be addressed and fixed without excuses as there is no excuse. I shouldn’t have to spend hours trying to fix a problem that both you and Nvidia creeated because you thin a pretty GUI looks better and shiny.
Thin its about time to give up on both you and Nvidia. Enough said and rant done.
