Plex of Samsumg TV not playing anything

Having the same problem with playback and don’t have a solution yet either, but can tell you my Samsung app plays via Internet. My Internet service was recently down and the TV and apps wouldn’t run on the network without internet access on the Samsung, but would on another TV via Roku.

Can you run mediainfo on the files that aren’t playing? What video & audio formats?

I watch movies all the time with the Plex app on a Samsung TV, 1080p & 4K, both h.264 & h.265 video encoded, AC-3 audio, SRT subtitles, MKV container. My PMS is a RPi that really cant do any transcoding so I make sure the files are already in this format so they can be Direct Play’d. The Samsung TV can play these codecs natively so to transcoding is necessary.

I have the same problem . Black screen. I unchecked direct play still black screen. Thanks for any guidance to get this to work again.

I have the same problem. For me the black screen issue is only on files that are In the PAL screen size/aspect ratio. This seems to be tizen specific as they play fine on my windows and fire stick apps. The tizen app has always struggled with these files as previously these would be transcoded unlike other files that would be ‘direct play’
