Hello there, a friend of mine bought today the LG 32LF650V model and i tried to find plex on LG content store but found nothing. After search i read that plex was submitted on LG store but haven’t approved by LG etc. Is that right?

Hi James - I’m from Oz - found it easily enough and downloaded it when announced on 30 October. This is what was announced: ''Smart TV and Android TV apps now free! And more…After some quality time with our Plex Pass members as an early preview, our Android TV and smart TV apps are available to everyone absolutely free, joining the ranks of our other free big screen apps like Roku, Tivo, Chromecast, and Xbox 360!"
I have found though that I need to constantly sign in - twice - using a 4 digit pin/passcode generated by the LG TV. I have to go to www.plex.tv/pin and access my already signed in account. The it works until I either shut down my computer or TV. Next time I have to do this all over again. This is a bit nasty given many of us paid for Simon Hogan’s pretty smart PlayZ app. There is a trick too in settings that suggest you can sign in automatically - thereby bypassing the code but it does nothing.
I would happily pay for Plex Pass but having read a few forums it seems that is no guarantee of bypassing the code. It is a bit slower than PlayZ too on my rig. Big disappointment really given their hype for it all.

I have PlexPass, I have an LG 4K older version, but I am in Brazil, and I cannot find the app on the local store, any chance on providing the file so I can add it on a USB drive?
I’m confused. Did I misread that some people here say that Plex app on their LG 4k TV works for free without a Plex Pass subscription?
I just looked up the Plex app on the LG App store and it says “Please note: This app is currently only available for Plex Pass subscribers (more info at http://plex.tv/plexpass).” Am I missing something?
I am in the market for a TV to use with PMS, but do not see any benefit of a Plex Pass for my needs. I mostly just want the TV app as a client interface to PMS, so I can view my own content co-located on the PMS machine. I will likely just use the TV’s interface for streaming Netflix, HBO Go, etc…
So, if I buy, let’s say this TV, can I install the Plex App on it and use the TV as a Plex client to play video files from my server on the LG tv? Or does it require PlexPass even to do this simple function? Thanks.

That TV is running Web OS 2.0. From my knowledge, since I have an Web OS 2.0 TV, the official app has been submitted but rejected by LG and it’s not available in any way on the Web OS 2.0 store. Therefore, I guess it would be possible to use the Official App on a Netcast LG TV, an older LG. And yes, I have some friends who own older LG TVs and since a couple of days ago they are able to install the Official app without having a Plex Pass. It sucks though that WebOs users are still behind since they are not able to approve the app.
Why can’t PLEX provide a usb thumb drive to use on webOS 2?? XPLAY allows for a free trail via usb…
