Plex on Apple TV and QNAP affected by HomePod audio

Server Version#: 1.30.0.
Player Version#:8.36.1

When streaming media from my Plex server on Q NA P NAS using Plex on Apple TV to Hisense TV, and selecting Apple HomePods as audio output on Apple. TV, the movie will usually not run, or may start and then lose audio. It appears to be paused andmay be coaxed to run by
• adding TV speakers to HomePod in Apple TV audio output settings.
• Pausing and unpausing the movie via Apple TV remote.
• Removing HomePods as output and using TV speakers only.
The last option is the last resort and always works after exiting the movie & resuming it.
I had similar problems with a Yamaha soundbar previously. These problems may have started when I replaced my router.
I had both routers online and tried to copy router settings across, but they are not the same brand, so settings vary and I may now be missing an essential router setting for streaming. I turned on UPNP
in the router.
HomePods work perfectly on Apple TV with streaming services
like Netfilise and Britbox. Some movies on Plex will work with Homefods but are the minority.
Apple TV is hard wired ethernet to the router, as is the NAS to the router.
IGMP snooping is disabled.

This is the store version of the App on Apple TV I assume?
This is a long standing issue and something I personally experienced.
The good news in that with the experimental player that’s in beta the issue has been gone for a while.

You can try signing up for TestFlight and getting in on the beta or just wait for it to become stable. There’s still lots of work going on so that may take a while.
