Plex on Apple TV feeze when selecting Hebrew subtitles

For the last two months, whenever I try to watch a video with Hebrew subtitles, the video freezes, and the characters are shown as squares. If I select English subtitles, the video is played correctly. This happens on both of my Apple TV devices. On the browser, the video is played correctly with the Hebrew subtitles.

I would love to get a reply from the team, as this issue made Plex unusable for me.
Simply put, Plex can’t be used with Hebrew subtitles.

I get the exact same issue after upgrading to tvOS 18 yesterday (saw that plex app was recently updated)

I have the same issue the subtitles freezing the video and the looping problem after I updated my apple tv to tvos 18 I am really struggling here and I don’t know what to do

Not only freezing , the subtitle appears in squares

I have the same issue with my Apple TV tvOS 18
when I select Arabic subtitle it freezes and the subtitle is square instead of Arabic words.
This issue is related to the IOS Plex app.
when I tested in website Plex and LG TV Plex App it worked fine.
Update: the issue only happens with SRT subs, it working fine .ass format.

Made a new thread (in addition to the this and the Chinese one)

For me it happens when bold text is enabled on my iPhone/iPad in iOS/iPadOS 18. Workarounds to try: switch off bold text, make new subtitle style
