Hi all,
Now that sky have updated the now to (roku) boxes and removed the developer access where you could side load plex, will plex be available in the nowTV apps soon?
I’m really missing the ability to stream my media around my house using plex.
Many thanks,

The party is over. You don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here.
Here’s one of the threads on the Roku Forum:
The solution, of course is to replace the box with something you can install a Plex app on. I recommend a Roku 3.
Roku are part owned by Sky though (who own nowtv), aren’t they. What’s to say they’re not going to access the Roku without permission and remove apps from that too? IMO it’s best to stay away from anything associated with Nowtv (Sky/Roku) otherwise you’re likely to end up searching for a new box again in a few months.

That is comparing apples to oranges.
The Plex app on the Now/tv boxes was ‘sideloaded’ using a mechanism for developers. Sp it was always ‘inoffcial’.
Now/tv boxes are very cheap (subsidized by Sky). This was being misused by some people to buy these cheap boxes en masse and put a Plex app onto them, pre-authenticated against their own Plex servers. Then they sold these preconfigured boxes with a profit as ‘pre-loaded Plex box’.
Roku on the other hand is not subsidized. And the Plex app for Roku is available officially in the Roku App Store.
