I am new to Plex but I am really liking what I have seen so far. However I am having a few problems I am hoping I can get some help with. First let me explain my set up
I have Plex 0.9.6.3 installed on a Windows Home Server 2011 Machine
I am able to see all my Media on my iPhone and iPad using the Plex app.
On my PS3 I can see the Plex Media Server. I can access the TV Shows Folder, However that is as far as it will get. It comes up with a error message saying "Media Server Error: A DLNA protocol error (501) has occurred.
The folder then says there are no titles
On the Xbox when I go to access the TV Shows Folder, I get the message No Videos.
Any one have any suggestions so I can see Videos on my PS3 and Xbox?

I have Plex running on a Win7 machine and I am running into the exact same DLNA protocol error 501 on my PS3.
I’m also having the same issue… Does anyone know of a fix?

I am having this same problem. Updating the PS3 didn’t fix anything. It pretty much just happened out of the blue… I was watching some videos with plex earlier on my PS3, left to go do something, came back and the PS3 keeps telling me DLNA error 501 and won’t show me anything past the Videos/Photos/Music folders.
So after trying everything (reset router, reset PS3, etc), I finally just said ■■■■ it and formatted by NAS. Threw plex back on along with a folder with a season of TV shows, and the whole list of plex folders shows up (including the TV shows I added, although as ‘unsupported media’, even though they were playing fine before?).
Plex is still scanning my media at this point (it is slow on this NAS), until it starts spitting out DLNA protocol errors again. I restart my PS3, and now i’m back to only seeing the Videos/Photos/Music folders and getting lots of DLNA errors.
So I think it must have something to do with Plex scanning for media, as I had changed nothing myself to make it go from working fine to DLNA errors.
I’m actually having the same problem, all my media players (PS3, XBOX 360, Patiot PBO) are giving the protocol error 501.
I’m running the latest beta on Ubuntu and it’s been working without error for weeks… all of a sudden (last night) things stop working.
Are there any updates as to why this is happening?
I’d really rather not have to reinstall as the indexing takes forever with the amount of media I have and the machine I’m currently using as a server.
I have also recently ran into this problem. I’m not sure when it happened.
It might be when upgrading PS3 to 4.20 but I’m not sure. I am running Plex 0.9.6.5 on a x86 Netgear Readynas Ultra plus.
The problem was also there on 0.9.6.3 (but I tried to upgrade to see if it would go away).
I have also upgraded PS3 to 4.21 but it didn’t help.
It’s working fine on my iPhone/iPad.
Have any of your tried deleting the system bundles? That fixed my PS3 and the 501 error.

Same error for me as well. I don’t see the Hulu folder… only CBS and HGTV. I was able to get a CBS show to play but wasn’t able to get an HGTV show to play.
