Hey, I would also love to know if there are any plans for Plex to be on the PS4 as I am not going down the Microsoft Xbox route this time either... Getting a bit sick of Media Link on my LG-TV (It's far too basic).
I imagine Plex will be on the PS4 as it is on the PS3 as far as I know.
I know it's early days but It would be great to know!

In fact there is no dedicated Plex application for the PS3 (as discussed in a different thread of this forum).
The PS3 can access a Plex server, but only as a generic DLNA server, not through a normal Plex GUI.
And this dependency on DLNA also means that the server and the PS3 must reside in the same LAN.
PS4 is supposed to allow self publishing of apps, and they have been giving away developer units to a lot of developers, Though not sure plex would be there idea of a great app for them. They want you to buy everything from the sony store.
Plex would be awesome on wither console xbox one or ps4. And they both support the HD audio formats.
Absolutely agree! If they would make plex available on a PS4 and not some bogged down version (Like in the Windows app store), it would actually make me buy a PS4.
I've just recently discovered plex when I was looking for better ways to stream to my ATV3 through plex connect all though short lived I fell in love with plex have the android app and would be willing to pay for a proper PS4 App. Please consider
Tested Plex/web on the PS4's web browser and can confirm you can sign in and get to your media but interface is buggy/laggy and video does not playback.

That's odd, as another guy has reported on such use in the 'Plex/Web' subforum, stating that it did work for him. Perhaps it has something to do with the media format used for the particular videos you tried.
What you describe does match my own experiences on the PS3 (I don't have a PS4 as yet). I had expected better results with a PS4, since it's supposed to be far more powerful. But CODEC support is another matter (not 'power' related) so perhaps that is what messed up your results.
Tested on my PS4 and i can confirm that it works but you have to set the streaming bandwith to higher bitrates if you want to watch at 1080p BD quality movies or trailers, instead you'll experience laggy/blurred pixels playbacks.
This worked connecting to my.plexapp.com where my video folders have been published via PS4 web browser using "direct streaming" from PC to PS4.
Any news of an actual app to the ps4? if so when could we expect it.. Desperately need one, don't like plex web on it.
As with everything else in the Plex-world - they never release any expected dates. Sure would be nice to get some information/input on this from the devs.
