I’ve managed to get my Plex Media Server reliably recording OTA local channels, and streaming them over WiFi to my Samsung TV using the Plex app (on the TV). All of that is working great.
There’s only one major issue remaining, regarding the behavior of the 10-second backspace/rewind when playing recorded OTA content. When I click the backspace button on the TV remote, it backspaces 10 seconds, but then immediately skips forward, at least to where it was before I backspaced, sometimes 20 or 30 seconds past that point, which is very frustrating. It’s unpredictable what is going to happen when I attempt to backspace. On rare occasions it behaves as it should, backspacing 10 seconds and not skipping forward, but that’s only 5-10% of the time.
If I hit it a couple of times in a row it backspaces 20 seconds, but then skips forwards again. It seems I have to backspace 5 or 6 times quickly, which backspaces 50-60 seconds, to get around the automatic forward skip. At which point I find myself skipping forwards and backwards trying to get to where I want to go.
I’ve tried this on the Windows desktop app and there is no issue with backspace/rewind there, so I’m guessing this is a bug in the Samsung Plex app.
Any suggestions?
