Samsung SmartHub - Plex App issues

I REALLY want Plex to work as a replacement for Dish, which we use primarily for access to local OTA channels, but so far it’s been more of a hassle than I expected. Here are the issues:

  • The app take a L O N G time to launch, over 60 seconds. None of the other streaming apps take anywhere this long.
  • Manual forward-skip behaves erratically if you click the forward button multiple times in a row. Sometimes it only skips once, and others it skips many more times than number of button presses.
  • Manual backward-skip behaves VERY weirdly. Sometimes it works, other times it skips backward but then immediately jumps back to the point where you initiated the skip.
  • In the DVR you cannot delete the last saved program for a channel. For example, say you have 3 recorded episodes of a show. You can delete two of them, but attempting to delete the last one does nothing. Whether or not the show is “marked as played” seems to have no bearing. This seems to be a general issue with the Media Server, since the same thing happens in the web interface.
  • Also, even though episodes seem to be “deleted” when the library is viewed from the Samsung App, they are not actually deleted on the Media Server when viewed through the server’s web interface.
  • The app seems to become “disabled” at some point, and just presents a dark gray screen that never displays the app. The only solution is to reboot the TV (long press on the remote power button).

It is discouraging that the Plex developers don’t seem to be reading this forum, is there a better channel for filing bug reports?
