I’m not sure if it’s related but on my 2021 LG it’s the same story only playback is unwatchable as well.
Constant buffering even on 4mbit quality… yes wired connection, local server.
Have to use Chromecast as the app is unusable right now…

Same laggy controls on my Samsung TV. Plus, now, many shows won’t even play. Episodes of shows I’ve watched won’t play if I try to watch them again.

This problem espeacially has shown in TV shows section. I dont have any problem in Movies section.

I am a member of plex pass.
It seems that there is a very general problem with the live tv function.
The problem is the following, and it is that when I make a broadcast from the deco, it extracts the
resolution at 1080i. so far everything perfect.
The problem ??? That when played from any smart TV, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, transcodes it to 1080p.
Consequence ??? Well, when doing the conversion, it is known that it lowers the fps of the original and results in many jerks in the images.
On the other hand, if I reproduce it with any smartphone, tablet, or pc, the broadcast is direct and there is no type of stuttering in the image, everything looks fluid.
Is it known to what is this? It seems that plex knows it in advance but they do not finish solving it.

I just saw that there is a new WebOS app version: 5.27.2
It doesn’t describe our problem and it looks like that it will only fix some minor bugs.
I will try and test this later tonight. In the meantime see link (please share your results if you’ve tested this new version).
UP: The new version didn’t fix anything it even feels slower.

Same story for me on a LG C7, UI is drastically slower, live tv is particularly brutal - takes an eternity to scroll through the 37 OTA channels I have on the grid

Can’t believe this app is now so bad on both my Samsung and LG TV’s. It was never perfect before, but this update is atrociously slow.
How are the developers simply not responding? Is this the norm for them?

Same here. I had to grab a Roku as the Plex App is unusable (especially for TV shows…) on both my Samsung and LG TVs.
Plex Dev, please roll this version back while you sort out this performance issue. This is a serious regression.
Same here on an LGB6 OLED.
Plex is laggy, artwork flickers and it plays the previous episode when the last one finishes.
Almost unusable in this state.

- Sluggish, laggy and flickering interface in menu.
- New TV episodes dont show up on LG app. It shows up in Chrome and iOS app perfect.
- Started after the question about Classic or Modern layout update.
Have to use Chromecast, unusable on LG Plex app now.
Regarding the subtitles’ size, yes: they are all messed up.

Can only see 5.0.1 client app on my LG, but it is from 2016 (WebOS 05.60.25) so may not be getting the latest Plex app?

By the way… look into the Settings->About inside de Plex player, and not the Plex Player APP in your TV hub or whatever (I don’t know how LG calls its app management system…)
