I have a 2015 Shield Device running Shield Experience 9.2 and Plex will reliably crash at or shortly after startup when browsing the library. Sometimes it crashes immediately and other times it will let me scroll a bit before crashing. I have factory reset the device and installed Plex from scratch, I’ve tried resetting the cache, replacing the thermal paste, etc…
If Plex survives long enough for me to pick a movie, then it will play fine.

I’ve been seeing this for the past week as well. It is likely just the placebo effect but it seems to crash and restart less immediately after clearing the cache for the app. It definitely happens most often when switches sections and it goes to load the posters, etc.
After a little more poking at this I did find what appears to be a work around and a dev will have to explain how this could possibly be.
Getting tired of the glitches and crashes I decided I was just going to downgrade and prevent auto-updates for a bit but I only got half of that done. I uninstalled 10.26.2578 and then side loaded kepler-arm64-v8a-googlePlay-10.25.0.2457-6d4c0187.apk . I reconnected my account, set up all my preferences again and everything worked great. No crashes, all the sections were loading quickly. Here’s where I screwed up and only hit 50% of the goal, while I was off fixing lunch it auto-upgraded back to 10.26.0.2578 but now it’s acting correctly. I haven’t had a single crash, everything is loading quickly again.
Clean load of 10.26.0.2578 off of a factory reset of the shield has the crashing issue. Upgrading from 10.25.0.2457 has no issues. Is something missing from the latest apk that is needed for a clean install to function smoothly?
