Plex on Synology doesn't update metadata on ALL TV shows - while the same on PC does!

Hi all,

I have two plex servers, one on my PC, the other on my Synology DS218+ on DSM 6.2. I upload the EXACT same files on both, and then on TV Shows, the PC does a much better job updating the metadata, correctly identifying episodes and generally is perfect.

However, Synology is not as good. It cannot recognize quite a few latest TV shows, like Bad Batch, Hard Knocks, Flight attendant, etc…

I changed the title, name of the file, etc… no luck. What do you guys think is the issue? My PC was on 1.18 version, as well as Synology. I updated BOTH to 1.24 however, while PC works just as well, Synology works the same not identifying the correct metadata.

Any ideas?

BTW, somehow Movies are all good on the Synology. All metadata refreshed and updated, exactly the same as PC. This is only the issue on TV shows!

Thanks, here’s how I fixed it. There’s an option under “Manage Library” called “Upgrade Matching”, which then updates the way metadata is populated.

This totally fixed the problem. Interestingly, my PC server was also on old “matching” but it still worked fine, I upgraded that one too.

So, if anyone else has the same problem, this is the solution!
